This small 12-cannon sailing ship was used as a courier and scout ship in Black Sea Fleet. The first appointed commander of the cutter was lieutenant Grigoriy Ivanovitch Butakov, the future admiral, the hero of Sevastopol Defense and the founder of the tactics of steamer armoured fleet.

The tender "Pospeshniy" has been put in pawn in Nikolaevsk admiralty on March, 18th, 1844 by master Akimov A.S., on building end, on September, 9th, 1845 was a part of the Black Sea Fleet.
Till 1850 Butakov G. I, ordering the tender "Pospeshniy" spent hydrographic works - investigated domestic and Turkish coast of Black sea and Bosporus, this work has been interfaced to considerable danger. Actually, the tender "Pospeshniy" performed impudent prospecting operations, repeatedly it happened to it to leave from prosecution of the Turkish ships. As a result of spent work Butakov has made sailing directions Black sea about 36th lithography plans of ports. For excellent performance of the task the commander "Pospeshniy" has been made in captains-lieutenants and awarded Sacred Anna's by award of 3rd degree.
With 1852 for 1853, under command of lieutenant Andreev A.N. the tender "Pospeshniy" as a part of groups of the Black Sea Fleet operated at the Caucasian coast, covering with fire of disembarkation of landings, carrying out patrol service.
Under Aslanbegov's command with 1853 for 1855, the tender "Pospeshniy" participated in the Crimean war as patrol and the messenger of the ship. At leaving Sevastopol Russian armies, "Pospeshniy" has been flooded in a bay of Sevastopol on August, 27th, 1855.
Model description.
Though the hull of the cutter is relatively small, it has a big bowsprit and sails and therefore does not look small. The length of the model together with the bowsprit is about 32 cm. The elaborated details and ripping make this model look rather "mature".

The kit contains:

  1. 2 mm sheet of laser-cut cardboard with hull details.
  2. 1 mm sheet of laser-cut cardboard with details including the platings.
  3. 3 sheets of map paper with patterns with printed wood structure and copper-coloured platings.
  4. A detailed assembly instruction with coloured illustrations in Russian and English.
  5. St. Andrew's flag made of cloth.

The kit is sold in a cardboard folder which is also packed into a plastic bag.

You will find it quite easy to assemble this wonderful ship and it will not take you much time to make this sailing ship with its uncomplicated riggings.
